The BBC begins trials of competing television systems – Baird vs. EMI/Marconi – at Alexandra Palace. The EMI/Marconi system is based on RCA’s 405 line system. John Logie Baird demontrates three systems: the Farnsworth Image Disector Camera, the Mechanical Spotlight Image Disector for announcements and the Intermediate Film system
