Canadian Broadcasting Act

Prime Minster Diefenbaker enacts a new broadcast act. It creates a board of 15 broadcast governors to replace the CBC as the regulatory authority in Canada. Its job is to ensure the continued existence of a national broadcasting system by regulating the activities of and relationships between the public and private broadcasting stations in Canada.
