To confront the problem of interference experienced by stations operating on the same channel, and the need to set guidelines for future TV services, the US Federal Communications Commission puts a “freeze” on all new TV channel allocations until further notice. The spread of television decelerates. 27 Stations in 18 different cities are in full operation.
