Phonovision

October 5, 1926

John Logie Baird applies for a patent for “Phonovision” – a system for recording and playing back television images on 78 rpm phonograph discs. By September 20, 1927, Baird had successfully transferred an image of his “Stooky Bill” doll to a 78 rpm disc. On that same day, he applies for separate patents for his experiments with radar and fibre optics.
