Sony introduces the first Trinitron method colour television, the CV-2400, which revolutionizes the picture quality of colour television. Trinitron has its origins with the chromatron tube, invented by famous American atomic physicist and Nobel Laureate Dr. E.O. Lawrence. The Trinitron doesn’t reach North America until 1969.
